Supplier Quality Engineer|
Our client is a world class Manufacturing site within their specialist field, dedicated, highly motivated and skilled staff the Company has achieved market dominance through a commitment to providing its customers with excellence in every respect.
What is the Purpose of the Role?
They now require a Supplier Quality Engineer to join the Supply Chain team at their Plymouth Manufacturing and Engineering site. Ideally the successful candidate will have significant industry experience, however applicants who have graduated with a mechanical engineering degree and who have experience working as a Quality Engineer, will be considered.
What will be your responsibilities?
Carrying out external supplier audits.
Organising on site screening and / or rework by the Supplier or sub contract agency
Responding to quality problems on supplier parts.
Ensure suitable and prompt corrective action using 8D C.A.R processes
Clarify methods of disposal for defective goods from the Supplier and approve new or modified parts
Assisting with tooling development for press tools, extrusion die tooling, forming processes and injection mould tooling.
Measuring supplier performance using Pareto, Dppm, and FPY, developing metrics and reports to ensure maximum supplier performance, dealing with non-conformance and complaints
Supplier training and processing claims against suppliers.
What experience will you have?
Previous ISO9001 audit experience.
Experience of APQP and PPAP is essential combined with knowledge of FMEA, 5Y 8D quality tools and exposure to lean methodologies.
Previous use of SAP Materials Module is desirable.
The position requires excellent communication skills while the ability to influence various stakeholders and the selected candidate will possess a methodical and thorough approach with excellent attention to detail.
The successful candidate will be required to travel around the UK on a monthly basis carrying out supplier audits. International travel may also be required on an ad hoc basis.

Up to £35,000 + bonus
