An excellent opportunity has come up for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-known manufacturing company. My client supplies their products to various markets across the UK, including industries such as food, pharmaceutical, automotive and various packaging companies. The Role of a Maintenance Engineer:
In your role as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer you will be responsible mainly for both electrical and mechanical works, consisting of the planned and reactive maintenance of the factory machinery, including packaging machines, mixers, hoppers, weighing machines and conveyors. Working to 3 phase electrically is a must. Mechanical work may not be as regular, but having previous experience with pneumatics and hydraulics are essential. Flexibility regarding shifts and overtime will make a candidate stand out.
The role is multi-skilled so the successful candidate must be strong technically and possess the ability to fault find both electrically and mechanically. It will be important the engineer has some kind of proven track record in some sort of manufacturing environment and have an engineering qualification to support their experience. Any knowledge with PLC's is definitely an added bonus as there are both Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC's on site, but my client will offer additional training if needed to up-skill the said engineer. Mechanically you would need to be able to work on pneumatics and strip down machinery.
