A fantastic opening has arisen for a Senior Estimator to join a UK top 10 Contractor in their housing division based out of Birmingham. This international contractor employs over 120,000 staff and has a turnover in excess of £33 billion worldwide. In the UK they have a turnover of over £800 million ( and growing) and employ over 1500 staff. There are three parts to the organization - development , frameworks and tendered work which are split roughly 30/30/40% . This means that the bid team can be more selective in projects that are bid for and can ensure that more profitable commercial terms can be achieved for the group.|
The position reports directly into the Estimating Manager and either a Senior Estimator or an Estimator who is looking for progression would be attracted to the role. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of projects successfully completed in a similar bid team environment and will have good knowledge of commercial computerized estimating software systems ( ideally Causeway Estimating Software ) .They will also have excellent people skills in order to be able to negotiate with both internal and external project stakeholders.
The mindset of the ideal candidate will be forward thinking and challenging with regards to new technologies , value engineering , industry developments and new approaches in order to continually develop competitive advantage. The Group is winning profitable and successful projects all the time is expanding its teams throughout the country and in many sectors - the business plan is to continue this process over the next 10 years either through acquisition or through organic growth . This means the opportunities for career progression are fantastic .
Salary is up to £55k dependant on experience plus 26 days paid holiday ( rising to 30 days after 5 years ) , Private Health and Life Insurance.
