About the Role:
Our client have released an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work as part of their new build team. You will work alongside other Quantity Surveyors and will provide assistance throughout the full life cycle of the build including the execution of commercial, financial and contractual matters to secure top level financial and legally compliant performance.
If you already have experience in Quantity Surveying then this is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking company with a great reputation and established QS team. This role will be based at their head office in Brentwood and will involve occasional travel to other sites. Duties will include but not be limited to:
• Assisting in preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client
• Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
• Performing risk and value management and cost control
• Advising on procurement strategy
• Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
• Preparing and analysing costings for tenders
• Allocating work to subcontractors
• Building client relationships
The ideal candidate will have some Quantity Surveying experience and will currently be working as an Assistant QS. You may have a degree, A-Levels or HNC in a construction related discipline and will have a keen interest in the main contracting sector of the construction industry, be confident, able to build relationships quickly, have strong IT skills (particularly Microsoft Word/Excel) and have a commercial mind set.
