About the role:

We are looking for a project manager to work on a new high end residential project. The role is to work with the Project Director and Construction Lead assisting in the implementation and delivery of the project. You will need to be able to manage internal and external customer relationships, by meeting and exceeding expectations.

What you'll be doing:

* Lead the project build team responsible in the first instance for sub-structure and super-structure works and manage the supply chain to deliver projects to time, cost and quality targets and standards, ensuring ownership throughout the team, holding yourself and others accountable
* Uncompromising approach to ensure safety targets and standards are maintained
* Knowing what safety excellence looks like and communicating safety with passion and credibility, in order to inspire, motivate and lead the project team to achieve the vision
* Engineering and / or Temporary Works coordinator role / experience preferred
* Understand and implement best in class site presentation
* Fostering a continuous improvement culture by actively seeking input from all members of the project team and supply chain, encouraging them to innovate and implement safety and project improvements
* Ensure sustainability targets and standards are achieved by:
* Build strong relationships with the Client, their team and the supply chain and actively engage with the customer to understand and deliver their key objectives
* Promoting Sustainable Solutions around all operations, particularly those related to efficient management of Waste, Energy and Water
* Leading effective Community Engagement Plans and Skills programmes where required
* Ensure that project plans and schedules are robust and optimise project resources and timescales and are communicated effectively to the project team
* Manage commercial and business risk to achieve targets
* Understand the relevant Contract terms and conditions for each project
* Proactively manage the customer relationship during delivery, including change and decision making to effectively manage expectations
* Manage external consultants (e.g. design) to enable delivery - driving value, customer focus and achievement of the project's objectives
* Responsible for people management and resourcing of the project; may manage other Project Managers on site or across projects
* Engage with and encourage team engagement with Build To Last, My Contribution and other business improvement processes
* Ensure the Company and Divisional procedures and policies are followed by the relevant teams, i.e. the Business Management System, including the Process Operating Model
* Ensure defects and any post completion issues, if applicable, are actioned in a timely manner to maintain a positive customer relationship and repeat business performance levels are managed
* Ensure effective records are maintained and kept for project delivery and regularly report on project progress, risks and issues to senior management
* Lead, manage and deliver operational excellence and efficiency through:
* Appropriate use of leadership indicator health check reviews through the Bid, Pre-construction and Construction phases of the project
* Ensuring rigorous monthly project improvement processes are in place
* Thorough implementation of planning, risk, project controls and change controls
* Ensuring Lean Visual daily management meetings are carried out to drive project performance
* Utilisation of specialist Lean skills to improve productivity, performance and safety of projects
* Implementation of best practice commercial management
* Utilise BIM, where appropriate, to optimise project delivery and drive safety, particularly through the use of 3D design and 4D (3D design and time) virtual construction simulation and use visualisation to support collaborative integrated teamwork
* Manage labour and materials efficiently where self-executing works and monitor expenditure in accordance with the agreed Project Schedule and budget
* Lead, develop and coach individuals to build high performing teams and create a pipeline of talent
* Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm

Who we're looking for:

* Significant previous experience in project management, in particular managing complex RC structures and retained facades within the high end residential sector is essential. Particular emphasis on inner city, tight, structurally and logistically challenging projects with basement digs (top down construction experience preferred).
* Experience of complex refurbishment projects, with conservation, listed status or Heritage experience preferred.
* The ability to communicate effectively is required in order to manage customer and neighbour relationships, in addition to strong planning and organisation skills to deliver operational excellence and efficiency
* Strong leadership skills, including experience of leading teams and confidence in the ability to lead, influence and communicate with others to deliver targets are required
* Financial awareness is required to deliver targets, with a desire to continuously improve safety and sustainability performance
* An appropriate and valid CSCS card is required
* A relevant professional qualification, such as APMP, and a relevant technical qualification are desirable, together with a Civils/engineering background/experience.
* Experience of leading award winning schemes with regards to CCS, NHBC etc is preferred
* Experience of Lean Construction principles and Lean practitioner training are desirable
