One of the East Midlands biggest Contractors are opening a new office in Sutton Coldfield and are currently looking for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their new team.|
Based in the West Midlands, the right candidate will have the opportunity to work across a range of new build projects, mainly in the industrial, education and healthcare sectors, across the West Midlands. As such, an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor with experience managing a range of projects would be well suited.
As you would be reporting into a regionally based Managing Surveyor, you will need the ability to work autonomously and will reap the rewards of genuine career progression and ability to mould the office as you see fit.
Ideally, the right Quantity Surveyor will hold 5 years industry experience working for regional build contractors or large scale sub-contractors. Full financial management will need to be demonstrated. Projects will only ever be an hour from Sutton Coldfield as the company takes work/home life balance seriously.
The typical duties are listed below to give you more of an idea of the role
* Post-award financial management of 2-3 projects.
* Monthly Cost reporting, risk and opportunity management
* Sub-contract enquiries, agreements, orders, payments and final accounts
* Attend meetings with client and consultants to ensure that all contractual matters and procedures are correctly dealt with.
* Client interim payments, variations and final accounts
* Potential to mentor and 'train' a more junior QS
A basic salary of between £40,000 and £45,000 has been agreed, with scope for progression and including a strong package.
After trading for nearly 100 years, this main contractor has such a strong base in the East Midlands that it looking to expand and as such, need quality, driven staff to make a success of this exciting development.
