Job Purpose and Context|
The person filling this role will be responsible for configuration, testing and supporting the deployment of mobile devices to Greater Manchester Police.
The role involves initial set-up and configuration of smartphone and tablet type devices, supporting GMP's vision for a highly mobile police service equipped to operate in the 21st century, working to tight delivery deadlines.
Working on site at the GMP Openshaw Complex, the role will involve close interface with the customer as well as Capita colleagues. In addition, off site work may be required at other Force locations.
The role reports to the Contract Manager and will be part of a Managed Service Team supporting the Force.
This role will be ideal for an individual looking to enter the employment market at the start of their career who is looking to gain some work experience in a high profile organisation.
The successful candidate must pass GMP security vetting requirements before any employment will commence.
Outline of Routine Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities
* Following set up and installation instructions on a variety of devices
* Ensure devices are suitably 'batched' into appropriate delivery bundles
* Ensure other colleagues are advised as to progress and provide relevant information as to the status of the devices
* Where identified and required, deliver devices to the appropriate GMP delivery location
The successful candidate should be able to follow correctly work instructions with a high degree of accuracy
The position requires a high degree of flexibility and the ability to work in a high pressure environment and be able to deliver to tight deadlines.
The contract will be for 6 months to support the deployment of the devices only.
