Systems Analyst, Litigation Support|
The department's role is to establish the technological needs of the legal team primarily during the disclosure phase. This involves providing technical advice to the team including appropriate database selection, producing lists of documents, exchanging the list and documents, receiving other party's documents, providing technical responses on other party's disclosure and helping to analyse other parties' disclosure.
•Liaising with the legal teams to agree requirements for disclosure, including working with clients, external vendors and counsel.
•Designing appropriate solutions to meet these needs, using either our internal Litigation Support system or systems hosted by an external vendor.
•Supporting the recommended solutions for the duration of the litigation case.
•Answering technical queries and managing updates as part of disclosure. This may include identifying, tracking, managing and resolving project issues.
•Ensuring that all work accountable for is completed on time and within budget.
•Managing own research projects. As a department we are always researching the market and looking for new tools or processes that we allocate to individual analysts as needed.
•Working with other technologies before and after disclosure on an ad hoc basis such as creating hyperlinked bundles and working with external firm's hosting documents for trial.
•Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services.
• litigation support tool of choice is Ringtail, a SQL-based database. Other comparable and acceptable litigation support tools include Relativity, Concordance, Summation, Nuix or Introspect. Other products may be acceptable.
•Specific knowledge of the following is also essential:
•Working knowledge of PDF.
•Previous experience of product integration.
•Appreciation of technologies outside the core Litigation Support tools.
•Experience of using SQL, Access and Excel to manipulate data.
•Good understanding of project management
•Experience of working in a user interface development environment within a multidisciplinary team
•Prior knowledge of Ringtail in a systems administrative capacity would be desirable along with a basic knowledge of SQL.
•Experience in a litigation support company.
Educated to degree level
Excellent communication skills as the candidate must be effective at imparting complex technical information to a wide variety of people from lawyers to suppliers and clients with differing levels of technical knowledge and skill.
