JW 86 - IT Technical Specialist

Obscurant are currently supporting a large Blue-Chip organisation in the Gloucestershire area who are looking to employ a Hardware Technical Specialist who will be responsible for managing the introduction of new technology and systems in to the business. As an integral member of staff you will be responsible for the research of new products, reviewing compatibility and the ultimate implementation of new equipment to the business.

Key Skills:

- Deployment using SMS or SCCM systems - Essential

- Sound understanding of client support

- Proven Windows and Multi OS experience

- Application packaging using msi files (or similar)

- Experience of handling legacy systems in windows environments

Main responsibilities:

* Transition the strategy for desktop environment into production desktop services
* Management of Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for the client environment
* Management of automated deployment images
* Management of environment for legacy applications
* Provide Application packaging service for the automated software deployment
* Management of application deployment environment
* Contribute to the strategy for UK and Group Desktop
* Installing and configuring Hardware systems in a networked environment
* Multi based OS primarily Windows; but includes other platforms.
* Microsoft Office applications and other common office applications (Internet Explorer, Adobe, MS Project, MS Access etc.);
* Installation and support of business software
* Installation and support of telephones (mobiles and desktop) and fax machines
* Act as escalation point for technical issues
* Provide technical advice and assistance to Company personnel in the effective use of computing equipment, products and services available;
* Co-ordinate the technical resolution of issues relating to equipment/systems supplied and supported by third party vendors or service providers;
* Adhere to call management processes for the resolution of incidents logged and assigned within the call management system
* Adhere to change management processes in the communication and coordination of changes that impact any production computing;
