A degree apprenticeship allows you to earn a degree without the debt.
It comprises of 3 levels of higher education (Levels 4, 5 and 6), corresponding to the 3 years of traditional full-time university study. However, for degree apprentices, the 3 levels of study will take slightly longer to complete because of the part-time, work-based-learning nature of apprenticeships. A degree apprenticeship programme will typically take 4 years to complete. Unlike traditional university students, you will earn an income while you work towards achieving your degree.
Each level of study comprises of 4 x 10 week terms (plus a work-based project in levels 5 and 6). Each term consists of classroom teaching, online self-paced learning, social peer-reviews/exercises and assessments (assessment is by assignments and exams). In addition, you will have a nominated mentor in the organisation in which you are placed, and you will be regularly visited in your place of work by a QA Skills Coach. You will also have regular contact with QA academic staff for tuition and ongoing support.
