The Mobile Hub is based in its own office at 5 Montague Cl in Burrough The team has onsite and offshore developers. There may be an opportunity to travel in this role.
The Hub uses leading edge technologies to help differentiate TUI from the rest of the competition. Any apprentice starting in the Mobile Hub will gain exposure to the latest tech, and be able to use this to shape their career. The Mobile Hub is working on a mobile user experience application for use across all their markets.

In this job you will...
- Contribute to the day to day operations involved in supporting, maintaining and developing applications to help inspire our customers in a fast and efficient manner
- Joining a growing and successful development team, playing an important role in the development and maintenance of both new and existing systems. Your responsibilities will be centred around the back & front end, and will involve design and development of key parts of the systems whilst working within an agile development environment
- Work with the on and offshore development team to validate issues and troubleshoot problems. You will be responsible for the development of new requirements, in conjunction with a mentor whilst maintaining adequate levels of communication at all times, via email, Skype and GoToMeeting
- Be expected to adhere to the use of best practices in software development such as participating in an Agile methodology (Scrum), use of design patterns whilst gaining experience of developing web applications using either Microsoft technologies or a Java stack and having the proven aptitude to learn these skills quickly
Your training will...
Start with a 12-14 month IT apprenticeship, which consists of training in small groups and work based assessment, covering: Object-oriented programming (OOP), SQL data modelling, Web and systems development, Event-driven programming.
You will gain City & Guilds Level 3 qualifications in IT Systems & Principles and IT Professional Competence, as well as a Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) in software development

Someone with a genuine interest and knowledge of technology, computing and development if you're the kind of person who enjoys coding in their own time or tinkering with tech then you could be exactly what we're looking for. Successful candidate will ideally someone with minimum 7 GCSE Grades (C and above) or equivalent, with strengths in one or more of the following; Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths Organisation, excellent attention to details.
Enthusiasm and desire to learn is more important than knowledge plus the ability to problem solve, and communicate in a business-appropriate way. The candidate should have excellent written and inter-personal skills Ability to work as part of a team, under guidance.
