In this job you will be...
- Supporting a wide-range of clients, from biotech to retail, in and around the Cambridge area.
- Responding quickly and efficiently to support calls, but also work autonomously and proactively depending on contracts, with opportunities to implement and design new networks from scratch and be able to spot new technologies and articulate their advantages to small and medium sized businesses
We're looking for an individual who is keen to get a wide experience of IT by helping a small, but busy, team supporting a wide-range of clients, from biotech to retail, in and around the Cambridge area. The company has grown over the past 18 months to a position where we're looking an additional engineer to help our increasing workload.
Your training will...
Start with a 12-14 month IT apprenticeship, which consists of training in small groups and work based assessment covering: Operating systems, Server administration, Customer support, Networking and Security.
You will gain City & Guilds Level 3 qualifications in IT Systems & Principles and IT Professional Competence, as well as Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) qualifications leading to the Microsoft Certified Professional certification. This fantastic opportunity can potentially lead to you earning £30k in the IT sector.
Who should apply...
Our client is looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills, full clean driving license (would be an advantage) and good written skills. They should have excellent computing skills - must have experience of PC building and/or maintenance, plus Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems, plus computer programming and exposure to server environments would be advantageous. The candidate should also ideally have 5 GCSE Grades (C and above) or equivalent, including Maths and English.
