General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Software Materials Specialist to join our team. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to ensure the execution and continuous improvement of logistics processes for General Dynamics Mission Systems and its customers. Key Responsibilities
Software Materials Specialist develop and administer integrated logistics strategies. As part of this role, these employees provide logistical support including spare or replacement parts and supplies to field organizations and to General Dynamics Mission Systems customers. To maximize sales and profit for the company and its customers, these Software Materials Specialists ensure that customer service and time objectives are met within existing financial constraints. They also work to continuously improve the standard logistics processes used within the organization. This position will coordinate the procurement, tracking, and coordination of commercial software.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with SW Asset Manager to initiate software license ordering in accordance with drawings
  • Track software procurement from ordering through receipt
  • Action and close problem reports and material requests related to software procurement
  • Publish a weekly report out of the ERP system to an enterprise location to provide status to the program teams
  • Identify schedule issues with software procurement and communicate with program team members to mitigate risk
  • As software is received, identify the PO information and the associated platform and upload the electronic receipt in an enterprise location
  • Coordinate with the quality organization to verify the recipient and licensing matches the purchase order
  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet changing business needs
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates should demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of logistics, as well as a desire and ability to improve the efficiency of General Dynamics Mission Systems logistical operations. Software Materials Specialists must have a bachelor's degree in a related specialty or the equivalent (information systems, supply chain management, industrial engineering, data analytics), and zero to two years of related experience. Applicants with a master's degree also qualify.

Department of Defense secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
