We are seeking a Senior Project Manager (Principal Technical Specialist) to join our Construction Services Group, working on the Miami-Dade County Public Schools project in Miami, FL.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) approved the issuance of a $1.2 billion General Obligation Bond for renovating facilities, updating technology, building school replacements, expanding student capacity and enhancing facility safety. M-DCPS has engaged WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff, teamed with Heery International, to provide Program Management Support Services on this seven (7) year task order program and to work in tandem with and under direction of in-house staff, on management of these projects. Our staff will be tasked to maintain a rollout schedule that will see every school in Miami-Dade County improved, helping ensure a safe and beneficial future learning environment for students. Scope of Services may include land acquisition assistance; assistance with the selection of design and construction professionals; planning, coordination, administration and management oversight of projects and other related services.

Using independent judgement and applying techncial expertise, the Senior Project Manager:
      • Leads and manages a broad range of activities associated with pre-design, design, pre-construction, construction (including all phases), closeout, occupancy and warranty enforcement for multiple complex and multi-faceted new construction, renovations and modernization projects
      • Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and reports the project management activities of multiple project teams with regard to educational facilities (e.g. supervises the work of more junior-level staff)
      • Coordinates/manages all aspects of project activities with region center administrators, school principals and central administration personnel.
      • Serves as project contact and liaison on all matters related to project design and construction (e.g. attends meetings and conferences with client and subcontractors)
      • Manages multiple projects in varying phases of design/construction
      • Interprets plans, specification, or other data
      • Solves difficult problems requiring substantial evaluation, analysis, and modification or adoption of standard techniques or methods

Job Requirements
      • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, urban planning, construction management or a related field is required (Master's degree preferred)
      • Ten (10) years of technical/field experience in commercial/public facility construction (preferably to include educational facility construction)
      • Strong management, communication, and negotiation skills
      • Relevant technical/industry certifications preferred
      Local candidates preferred and will be given first consideration
The ability to immediately work in the United States is required. The selected candidate must be able to work in Miami within two weeks of being selected.
