Senior System Integration Engineer - Stockport - UK - ALH recruitment are recruiting a Senior Systems Integration Engineer for a global leading Electronics manufacturer in the Stockport area of Greater Manchester.

As a Senior System Integration Engineer you will provide technical leadership and ownership for the system design of advanced electronic measuring devices. You will specify, design and implement overall system designs comprised of Mechanical, Electronics and Software components. Working with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers you will deliver optimised solutions to meet the requirements of the business and customers.

Essential Responsibilities

This role includes leadership, technical decision making whilst still enabling you to be personally involved in the design of products and technology research. You will hold the overall technical responsibility for the metrological performance of the product, whilst maintaining an interface to the wider product development team, allowing you to further develop your career within the business.

Lead the research and development with a team of Mechanical, Electronic and Software Engineers through product design / technology investigations.
Research, specify, design and document the metrology system in the product - This will include specification of electronic, mechanical and software components, the setting of error and power budgets, and an understanding of metrology (ultrasonic measurement systems for gas).
Definition of design validation test plans, testing of your designs to ensure that the product complies with the specification and specific metrology regulations (MID).
Take the lead in analysis of results during the validation process. You will be able to analyse performance non-conformities to root cause, then work with the design team to create updates to the product to ensure compliance of product.
Work with the project and product managers to plan timelines and budgets for projects.
Work with the project manager to ensure that the technical design team works efficiently to meet deadlines.

Qualifications/ Essential Requirements

Minimum BEng/ BSc in a technical subject (Engineering, Maths, Physics) or equivalent experience.
Significant experience in an systems engineering design and validation environment.
Strong technical knowledge of embedded systems and components (including software and its interactions with other parts of the system), and relevant experience in the design and validation of high volume products.
Experience in the detailed debugging of complex system interactions between Real Time software and embedded microprocessor and SOC systems.
Experience of design for EMC, Design for Test and Design for high volume Manufacture.
Experience in the setting of statistical process and product capability metrics, and their validation during product introduction.
A thorough understanding of the application of statistical methods to the design and implementation of sampling systems.
Proven experience of whole lifecycle development
Good team player with experience of leading other engineers in cross-disciplinary teams.
Effective communicator and strong technical documentation skills.
Flexible and adaptable, able to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Business acumen, the ability to understand business needs as well as technical needs of the project.
Experience of working and testing against global product standards, i.e. IEC, EN, MID
Positive "Can-Do" attitude and the motivation to make a big difference in the business performance.
