Their ultra-low-latency networking product architectures enable superior performance in a broad range of applications, including financial services, high-performance computing, cloud computing, storage and virtualised data centres. They are currently expanding the software team which develops high performance network stacks and are looking for software engineers with strong C programming skills who can quickly understand a complex hardware and software architecture.
This role involves working on an ultra-high performance TCP/IP implementation, a sockets layer, which is semantically identical to Linux and a number of Linux kernel modules integrating closely with the Linux network stack.
The company actively push patches into the mainline Linux kernel and employees get to contribute to the community. They are looking for the very best software engineers to drive core development activities in C on Linux.
Suitable software engineers will have:
- Excellent C programming skills,
- A strong academic background (either PhD, or 1st/2.1 undergraduate degree from a well ranked University)
- Strong Linux development experience, (Kernels and Device Drivers)
- Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP and the sockets interface.
