The main task will be to develop and support a planning tool under the guidance of MASS's system design authority at Enterprise House. The planning tool is written in VBA under MS Access and has been subject to incremental development for the last 10 years. However, it's expected to transition to a maintenance lifecycle within the next 2 years. A programme of work is planned to streamline the tool's functionality to provide greater user benefits including a thorough overhaul of the user interface. Experience of developing VBA applications and developing user-friendly HMIs would therefore be very beneficial. The candidate will also be required to support the user community, responding to customer queries in a professional manner.|
Mandatory Skill Requirements:
Hardware - Familiarity with software development on a PC platform
Software - Experience of developing VBA applications for MS Access Good working knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Awareness of current and emerging HMI techniques
Tools & Methodologies - Experience in developing solutions within a waterfall lifecycle Experience of using a configuration control tool Experience of a CASE UML Tool.
Other - Good interpersonal skills - ability to work as an effective member of a multi-disciplined team under direction of a system design authority with good customer-facing skills Must have the ability and willingness to become security cleared to DV level, if you do not currently hold this level of clearance
Desirable Skill Requirements:
Hardware - An understanding of Citrix would be beneficial.
Tools & Methodologies - Experience of software design modelling e.g. SysML, UML, OOD. Experience with issue tracking tools such as JIRA Experience of automated integration and test (e.g. Jenkins).
