Senior Software Engineer - Cyber Intelligence|
A Senior Software Engineer with industry experience of delivering robust product code (Java, C++ or Python) is needed to join our expanding team to develop cutting edge technology on a range of exciting projects for the defence, communications and/or cyber intelligence domain.
As a Senior Software Engineer you will harness your skills in Java, C++ or Python in order to lead delivery of key software developments, and champion best software practices both on and offsite. The role requires software engineers to work in our top of the range site in Hampshire, or if you live elsewhere we have other sites in London and also Cheltenham.
For this job the successful candidate will be capable of design and development of Java and/or C++ code ideally with an existing knowledge of other languages including Python. You will be expected to learn new frameworks and languages and solve challenging problems both in terms of solution capability and performance. Familiarity with both system and unit testing frameworks and test driven development is considered a significant plus. This job will see you work alongside other engineers or occasionally alone with some travel to customer sites.
Senior Software Engineer - Key skills:
Good software engineering skills with an applied knowledge of a variety of languages (e.g. Java, C++, Python) and frameworks with an ability to learn new languages and frameworks quickly.
Good software engineering abilities with detailed knowledge of concepts such as test driven development, continuous integration and version control.
Ability to understand, adapt and architect complex software systems.
Customer facing communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to achieve DV clearance (due to the nature of these projects)
Due to the nature of this position, candidates must be willing to undergo, and eligible to achieve HMG security clearance (prior to appointment). As a result, candidates should be a British Citizen; and have resided in the UK for the last 10 years.
