Safety Systems Engineer (Machine Safety)|

My client requires a Senior Engineer with a proven track record of working on safety related control systems. The successful Control Engineer will provide a central resource of expertise in safety related machinery control systems. The Senior Engineer will create and maintain a common safety related control function design process for a global network of machinery automation centres, and provide them with training, consultancy and independent project review and assessment.
Key aspects to the role include -
+ Degree or equivalent in a relevant area of Engineering
+ Experienced in planning and delivering functional safety control system solutions; including both software/firmware and hardware, working to SIL3 or equivalent.
+ Working knowledge of at least one relevant international standard for safety related control systems, e.g. IEC 62061, IEC 61508, ISO 13849-1
+ Ability to create, operate and maintain relevant design processes and documentation systems
The successful Senior Engineer will have a proven track record in Automation and will have very high calibre communication ability, be very well presented and may ideally have some foreign language skills.
The successful hire is highly likely to have worked in automation across a range of sectors. Industries of particular interest are food & beverage, packaging, metal processing, water, HVAC, printing, cranes and leisure. Experience of working for one of the major Electrical systems companies will be highly beneficial.
Experience with machinery control systems and/or variable speed drives or servo drives would be an advantage. Ability to work cooperatively with worldwide engineering groups with varying levels of expertise and diverse cultures will form a key part of this role.
