My client is a genuine market leader in a fast paced, fun and exciting vertical. Due to continued growth they now require a Controls Programme Engineer to join their comprehensive software and motion control team. The role will involve writing complete system software for PLC and Robotic based systems. The successful applicant must have Robotic programming skills, with ABB and Mitsubishi being advantageous. An understanding of robotic conveyor tracking linked to vision system object identification and positioning will be beneficial. Applicants must be proficient in PLC, HMI and motion control on Beckhoff TwinCat, Omron, and Mitsubishi platforms, and be able to connect to devices on fieldbus networks such as Ethercat, DeviceNet, Profinet, Profibus, EthernetIP, and CC-Link. They must also be willing and adaptable to transfer their skills to alternative control software such as Rockwell and Siemens when required.
Experience and background in engineering, preferably having had hands on electrical and controls experience, with servo/invertor drive set-up, will be required.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, positive, motivated to keep projects to schedule, will be equally comfortable working both individually and within a team, and willing to travel.
