Lead Quality Engineer|
Our chosen business partner was first established in 1996 with the set-up of a factory in the UK. The business is a wholly owned subsidiary founded in Japan in 1911. The business has grown substantially over the past decade with a Regional Headquarters based in Munich and three manufacturing plants in across Europe.
The Company manufacture systems for OEM's in Europe and we have sales and technical staff located across EU to support their customer requirements.
We are looking for a Lead QA Engineer for our Lancashire site to manage our team of QA Engineers and Technicians. The purpose of the role is to lead the Quality department to ensure all Customer, internal and supplier QA requirements are satisfied and that customer returns and Customer complaints are handled appropriately. You will also develop and maximise the Quality departments contribution to Company profitability.
Review and manage the day to day running of production QA section, ensuring high levels of customer service to both internal and external customers.
Drive, monitor, evaluate and report performance against budget plans and targets, and ensure improvement actions are implemented where required.
Participation in fault finding and remedial work, ensuring non-conformance are investigated and countermeasures are introduced to prevent re-occurrence.
Develop all QA staff through the EU-UK performance management system to facilitate an environment of continuous improvement, development and best practice.
It is expected that you will have an in depth knowledge of automotive standards, quality techniques and their application particularly TS16949 and APQP tools such as control plans, process flow, FMEA, SPC, R&R, internal audit, structured problem solving.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Educated to HNC / HND level in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
At least 5 years working knowledge of a QA department preferably within an Engineering / Manufacturing environment.
Experience of leading teams on a day to day basis but also ensuring long term development and upskilling.
Previous experience in an Automotive environment would be desirable. The candidate will also need strong analytical skills and be PC literate
