Design Engineer (Refrigeration / HVAC)

A new Design Engineer is needed for a National Industrial HVAC Company.

Key Objective -
Working within the existing refrigeration design team, you will be responsible for the design of heavy commercial & industrial refrigeration systems, in order to support the business. This role requires a hands-on practical approach and Design Engineer will need to be familiar with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel. etc) and ideally AutoCAD.

Responsibilities -
The position entails becoming an vital team member of group engineering and develop to perform the below responsibilities.

• To design and document refrigeration systems from a sales concepts to fully working installations following company QA procedures and best practices.
• To offer design support as required to business unit project / service management colleagues.
• To liaise with the clients / his representatives to enable fully integrated designs with other trades.
• To use basic techniques of AutoCAD to enable efficient design of system P&I drawings.
• To use calculating tools to enable efficient sizing of vessels, pipes, valves and pumps.
• Make assessments of system designs and apply the Pressure Equipment Directive.
• To produce control description to best explain to electrical sub-contractors the intended operation of the refrigeration system.
• To produce commissioning documentation per design to reflect the original design parameters
