Samuel Frank Associates require a Control Engineer to join a rapidly expanding system integrator in Worcestershire.

The successful Control Engineer will ideally have 3-7 years commercial experience and have a mixture of both PLC programming experience in any of the major vendors such as Siemens, Allen Bradley or Mitsubishi as well as some Electrical design experience using ePlan or AutoCAD.

The client has recently won multiple UK projects and is looking to grow the team with a new Engineer who is happy working in an office environment to write new software as well as being site based in the UK, potentially for elongated periods of time. This will predominantly be based on a Monday-Friday arrangement, coming home at weekends.

Key aspects of the role include -

Design, development and commissioning of PLC and HMI software for new projects
Evaluation and enhancement of existing PLC and HMI systems
Preparation of software specifications, test procedures and manuals
Liaison with clients, suppliers and contractors
Site based commissioning

Ideally with a Degree or HNC/HND qualification in a Control or Engineering related subject and a minimum of three years professional working experience in the field of industrial automation or machinery control systems, you will be competent in developing and commissioning PLC and HMI software and ideally Electrical schematics, general arrangements and BOMs.

Self-motivation, strong communication skills and a high level of individual initiative will be required for this role.

Primarily using PLC software skills, this is a start to finish programming, design, debugging and site commissioning role, working as part of a cross functional team of electrical, mechanical and software engineers. The client offers a highly professional working environment with the opportunity for career development.

The position is commutable from most of the West Midlands including places such as Redditch, Kidderminster, Birmingham, Cheltenham, Worcester, Leamington Spa and Hereford
