Our client based in North Hertfordshire is looking for a Principal Consultant Mechanical Engineer to join their team. You will be managing multiple client relationships and assessing market needs, linking unmet needs to novel technology solutions and making technical contributions at all stages of product development projects and delivering innovative solutions as well as anticipating project risks. You will have increasing responsibility for managing projects whilst maintaining direct contribution to advanced technology and engineering design in the development of new products and providing concept generation and ideas, implementing mechanical hardware designs and developing medical technologies through to production of products or devices.|
You will provide technical and opinion leadership as you contribute to project teams, client organisations and business presentations and manage key stakeholders and multi-disciplined teams within projects, your approach, reliability and dedication will enable you to effectively integrate with teams of engineers, designers and physicists inside the company and the client's organisation. Your work will display quality, honesty and integrity at all levels, in particular to address the standards of design rigour that are required to develop successful medical devices.
Qualifications and training:
You will have a 1st or Upper 2nd class degree from a leading university in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
You will have a passion for and deep understanding of mechanical engineering and design, gained through development of medical technologies, products or devices and a track record of successfully leading ambitious RandD projects, including managing all aspects of client (or internal client) communications. An enthusiasm for innovation, demonstrated by evidence of proactive and commercially-relevant development and evidence of technical creativity and enterprising spirit, ideally demonstrated by having linked unmet needs to novel technology solutions
