Able to lead significant Design and Development projects / programmes, works to a budget and on time.
Would normally be responsible for meeting timing, technical requirements, and costs legal requirements of elements of new products.

Actively promotes cost reduction and quality improvement activities.
Interprets standards and applies to own work.
Good knowledge of material properties.
3 years minimum experience using FEA packages.
Good understanding of manufacturing techniques - profiling, weld assembelies, machining, castings, forginings and able to apply this to the design.
Competent with systems and procedures of the department e.g. Computer Aided Design (CAD) using NX within a Team Centre Environment and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s.
Demonstrates ability to take responsibility for the design/development of structures - From concept to on-line manufacture.
Understands impact on full systems of own work / Full system awareness.
Awareness of cost implications for full component life cycle.
Full Understanding of Engineering Sign Off process and criteria and capable of compiling engineering sign-off data.
Confident of championing projects and chairing meetings to ensure smooth and effective management.
Ability to positively represent our client e.g. to both suppliers and customers.
Has ability (not just technical) to advise and influence other engineers through knowledge and expertise
Ability to work as part of a Global team interacting with engineers at other site such as Brazil, China & India.
