Sector Planning |
1. Purpose of the Job
To support the co-ordination, administration and production of planning and scheduling progress and performance data, to support periodic and other reporting requirements. Also for making data is relevant and easily accessible.
2. Principal Accountabilities
Supporting the Employer to:
Co-ordinate planning and scheduling processes to produce timely and regular transfer of accurate and coherent schedule information into the relevant schedules and performance reports.
Coordinate and integrate the work scope for all entities into the total project plan by reviewing the representation of project scope in schedules.
Prepare and analyse comparisons of scope and quantities between the projects and perform productivity analysis, including development of reports.
Work with the Sector Planning Engineers to provide planning and scheduling analysis so that planning and scheduling data is interpreted and represented accurately in the client's performance reports.
Develop criteria around planning and scheduling related charts and tables in support of Sector reporting requirements and maintain schedule reporting and performance graphs, charts and tables.
Maintain the client's Sector One page schedule.
Provide planning and project management support to Sector and Project Delivery Teams (PDTs) as directed by Sector Planning Engineer.
Identify and communicate specific schedule issues to the relevant Project Delivery Teams as may from time to time develop.
Identify and communicate the key project deliverables related to each project milestone to each discipline within the Sector to facilitate timely and coordinated delivery.
Provide such additional support to the Sector Controls and Commercial Director and Sector Planning Engineer as may be from time to time required.

Support the Employer to:
Work effectively with the client's teams so that planning and scheduling data and analysis that is provided in performance and other reports is comprehensive, accurate and conveys a meaningful view of the programme.
Work within robustly established time frames, produce planning and scheduling reports that accurately reflect the views and analysis of delivery organisations.

There are no direct budgetary or resource management responsibilities associated with this role.

5. Person Specification
Educated to at least degree level, or equivalent training and experience.
Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and the home office.
Experience in the development and production of reports and presentations.
Advanced Excel skills and data manipulation essential.
Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications such as Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Office Applications.
Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes.
Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
