TITLE: Project Manager|
My client designs and manufacture bespoke solutions for a broad range of industries. However, with a specific passion for motor sport. This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager responsible for managing projects from initial contact to placement of order
This role involves significant customer interface with small and large companies and multi-project management
To liaise with existing and potential new customers on larger project based activities and to provide the best technical solution to meet their requirements, to develop and present project solutions and manage sales contracts in line with company policies.
To oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of all project sales orders thus ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget and with the optimum level of customer satisfaction. To provide adequate information to the company management team in order to match resources and to ensure the company satisfies the exacting needs of their key market sectors.
To liaise directly with all Customers at all levels including a specific involvement with supporting our F1 and other Customers throughout the consultation process of their project enquiries.
To achieve a clear understanding of Customer needs and, with the aid of the in-house design team, translate that into a technical proposal which provides the optimum cost / benefit solution.
To raise, communicate and negotiate product quotations through the use of software packages in line with company procedures.
To maintain Customer enquiry records and provide timely responses to enquiries, ensuring an excellent level of Customer service is provided at all times.
To define the scope of all major orders, creating a work plan, resource review, design / build schedule and financial assessment in collaboration with senior management.
To work closely with the design team to ensure all Customers' technical details are incorporated into the final product design and that the products meet their demanding visual and quality standards.
To oversee the production scheduling to ensure shipments are co-ordinated and on time, and to monitor the raising of works orders' to communicate design and component specification to production functions and external suppliers.
To work with the senior management team to provide market knowledge and detailed forecasts to assist in developing and maintaining budgets and capacity planning.
SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS:
Prior project management and account management experience, ideally within motorsport or automotive arena, with proven ability to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and to make clear decisions which are timely and in thebest interests of the company
Excellent communication skills - able to communicate verbally and via written media at all levels.
Understands the principles of design and engineering, with a basic appreciation of CAD software.
Able to work to very tight dead-lines.
Prior UK and European travel
BUSINESS AND SELLING SKILLS:
Must be an excellent telephone communicator of technical data with ability to deal face-to-face with Customers.
Able to demonstrate success and experience in a technical sales related background.
Good knowledge of basic business financial concepts and calculations. Must be a competent writer of business emails, quotations and proposals.
