Our client has been established for almost 30 years and provide both services and products on a truly global scale. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of continuous improvement and strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, adaptable and highly experienced IS Solutions Architect to complement their established Information Systems department.
The successful candidate will utilise their comprehensive knowledge of systems architecture, creation techniques and technologies in order to develop and maintain the company system architecture roads maps, working closely within the Architecture team to translate high level strategic intent into information technology solutions that meet the needs of future business direction. Maintaining and developing your understanding of appropriate technologies available in use across all of the application architectural domains, as well as of emerging technology trends and developments, you will be responsible for delivering the early part of the lifecycle to define the technical work streams deliverables and architectural direction, before then governing the technical deliverables through transition into service phase of the I.S. Portfolio.
You will define the specification of solutions architecture, identifying the components, services and their interrelationships needed to meet the needs of the business as a whole, and will manage the provision of specialist knowledge over a range of IS topics and the role of IS within the business, supporting the identification and assessment of new emerging hardware, software and communication technologies, product methods and techniques and evaluating the likely relevance of these for the business in the future.
Due to the technical nature of this role, it is essential that the Solutions Architect demonstrates strong hands-on implementation skills in contemporary technologies and methodologies and is wholly comfortable in working at a highly detailed level in a complex technical environment, and you will be expected to confidently assess and articulate solution design options, benefits, affordability/costs and delivery timelines to other Teams and Stakeholders and gain interest and support from colleagues for the architecture road map.
You will be skilled in absorbing complex technical information and requirements and communicating effectively at all levels to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, combining technical competence with both business and commercial awareness and being able to assess and evaluate risk to understand the implications of new technologies and their impact within the business, and will demonstrate previous experience of working within a I.T. Infrastructure Outsourcing environment.
To be considered for this varied and challenging opportunity, you will realistically demonstrate a relevant Degree and the ability to envisage the business potential of emerging technologies and products with a broad understanding of all stages of systems development and service delivery. Essentially you will have a comprehensive knowledge of at least one specific IS area/service/application and a broad understanding across a wide field along with a record of applying such knowledge successfully in a variety of situations, and a significant level of experience in the analytical comparison of IT products against specified criteria to determine the best solution to the business need.
