We are currently working alongside a national and international civil engineering contractor that has recently begun trading in Scotland and is now looking to develop the commercial team with the appointment of a Managing QS.|
The main responsibilities of the role are to manage and provide support to a small (but growing) team of Quantity Surveyors on schemes around Scotland, predominantly in the power sector working on schemes from simple substation builds to large HVDC projects. The main office for the power division is in Yorkshire and so you will be reporting remotely and will receive visits from the Business Unit Commercial Manager and his deputy every couple of weeks. This will of course require the successful applicant to be self-motivated and procedurally competent.
To be considered for the role you should be able to provide evidence of a progressive career as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering, contracting, environment. Ideally you will have gained good experience within the power sector and with the FIDIC form of contract, however, neither are necessary to be successful in the role. As mentioned earlier you will need to be proactive in your approach and happy to report remotely - this will require you to be comfortable using MS Excel. Given the office location and geography of the projects a home location between Dundee and Stirling would be ideal.
If you are interested in this role please forward your CV and you will be contacted by the relevant consultant
