Our Client is a multi-discipline Building Services Engineering Practice that provides a strategic, flexible and innovative approach for all its customers. Their raft of engineering and management consultancy services are in demand with some of the world's biggest brands, creating added value for all projects through passion and commitment to delivering engineering excellence.|
The business enjoys a number of enviable End User relationships, regularly working directly for or on behalf of the developer. This enhanced position within the construction chain offers the opportunity to be involved with each project at a far earlier stage, with increased responsibility for both design and delivery, offering a unique opportunity to work at the "sharp end".
Whilst M&E design is very much at the heart of the business, this position of authority does come with significant responsibility in relation to managing the design process, co-ordination of mechanical and electrical services and the cooperation and management of contractors on live sites. Many of the live project carry an M&E value of over £20m and generally fall into 2 categories: -
1) Residential Developments
2) Logistics/Distribution Sites
The role of M&E Design Engineer will be to lead the design project and act as the single point of contact to the customer, responding to design queries and ensuring smooth running of each design scheme. With opportunities for both Mechanical (HVAC) and Electrical bias Building Services Engineers, these enhanced design and project roles will require a basic understanding of the weaker discipline in order to represent the business both M and E. The nature of the work is likely to attract Building Services Design Engineers from both a Consulting Engineering and Design & Build Contracting environment, however most importantly the positions require a significant level of technical competence, strong leadership and thorough communication whilst installing confidence and clear direction.
The ideal candidate will have a strong design background but will have run their own large scale projects, understanding what it takes to see a job through from initial concept design through to completion and handover.
Applications are invited from technically competent client facing Engineers/Project Managers, looking for a challenging yet highly rewarding career move. With projects based nationally, in particular London and the South most notably, some travel will be expected to engage and enhance customer relations
