The purpose of this role is to assist in the day to day smooth running of the factory floor through good supervision of staff, procedures and product.|
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Provide leadership, encouragement, training and support in order to help others achieve their results and meet their targets.
Ensure all manufacture is carried out in accordance with job sheets, working drawings, specifications and system supplier's fabrication manuals.
Ensure all manufacture achieves the highest quality standards in line with the company's quality procedures ensuring all documentation and labelling etc. is completed and records maintained.
Ensure all manufacture is completed in a timely fashion within the given timescales to meet the required delivery/installation dates.
Ensure all company documentation is completed and records maintained in accordance with the company's procedures.
Organise the factory labour resource to meet the demands of the fabrication Programme/department.
Ensure all operatives are working efficiently, consistently and to the required performance levels in order to meet the demands of the fabrication programme/department.
Attendance at meetings, as required, to report on the operational status of the department.
Liaise with all departments to ensure that the company's requirements are fulfilled.
Provide cover for other members of staff as may be required.
Assist in the further development of the department and the team members.
Proactive approach with regards to continuous improvement and provide feedback on ways to improve the performance of the department and interfaces with it.
Carry out any other duties that may be deemed necessary for the completion of the works by the company and/or the line manager.
To provide optimum levels of leadership, if required, encouragement, training and support in order to help others achieve their results and meet their budgets.
Generally motivate people to give their best results, praising them when things go well and appraising them of improvements which can and should be made.
Encourage others to communicate effectively and efficiently at a level that is understood by all thus developing a culture of participation and involvement.
Create a network of contacts across various disciplines that provide advice on what resources are available both within or outside the organisation.

In summary the person filling this position should ideally be friendly, self-confident, self-starting, somewhat self-reliant, decisive within their own area of knowledge, thorough, methodical and organised. The job should allow the incumbent to set the pace and act independently.
