As part of a plan of continued growth they are now seeking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Estimator to join their team based in the South East.
To perform pre and post contract quantity surveying services for their high profile client base and form part of a team approach to successful project delivery. The role will also include the ad hoc requirement for the production of cost estimates for newworks and proposals associated with them. The role will involve the drawing together of self-knowledge with that of other stakeholders in the business to allow the promotion of the company in the market place.
The successful candidate will have the following:-
Ideally a graduate with a relevant Surveying Degree.
Possess a good understanding of the utilities sector.
Fully understand standard forms of contract, in particular NEC.
Sound experience in contributing to the preparation, monitoring and forecasting against budgets during the design, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning phases of a project.
Have a good understanding and ability to contribute to financial and commercial reports.
Possess a sound understanding and the ability to contribute towards Anticipated Final Cost reports for client review.
Demonstrate a track record of being effective and efficient in the commercial administration of projects.
Have a good working knowledge and understanding of the component parts of a project and overall construction costs.
IT literate and experience in utilising software systems, in particular MS Excel (to a high standard), MS Word and MS Project (desirable).
Civils and infrastructure experience
Ideally Construction in Telecoms; fixed line or mobile networks
Will need to be capable of achieving full security clearance, should the need arise
