Technical Manager (would suit Design Manager Project Architect or Bid Manager)|
A major contractor are looking for a Technical Manager to support the company's Education team (would suit candidates from a Design Manager, Project Architect or Bid Manager background
You will be joining one of the most elite contractors in the industry, working from highly modern offices in a countryside location (there is a nature trail you can go on at lunchtime). There is also an on site restaurant with a terrace for outside dining!
Great MD, very very low staff turnover, lots of room to progress and take the role of 'Commercial lead as you develop
The role - Technical Manager (would suit Design Manager Project Architect or Bid Manager)
The role requires national coverage of the contractors business units and the successful candidate will based in the head office in Bedfordshire reporting to the commercial lead.
Your role will be to pull everything together and capture best practice and design solutions and to then liaise with the FA to get overall sign off and roll it out nationally.
Your role will be to support the design team and tackle any design issues throughout the group
NA the role to become the education design champion
NA and develop standardised design of building components such as windows, classrooms, toilet clusters etc
NA and develop design improvements
NA technical support and advise to the business units in dealing with the EFA and the EFA specification
NA support in dealing with technical issues and challenges
NA peer review of business unit designs to improve function and cost
NA and share best practise through the Group
NA and maintain relationships with EFA technical staff and advisors
The ideal candidate for this Technical Manager role. This would suit someone currently working as a Design Manager, a Project Architect or a Bid Manager
NA a architectural background with design management experience
NA recent experience in designing schools
NA recent experience in designing to the EFA Facilities Output Specification
NA recent experience in working with the EFA
NA genuinely interested in developing standard designs and solutions to improve the profitability and quality of school projects being delivered across a number of frameworks.
