Test Manager - New Managed Test Services Function - Leading UK Consultancy|
A Test Manager is required to join one of the world's foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, working within a newly established Managed Testing Service unit.
This represents a unique opportunity to be one of the first senior hires within a newly formed Testing Unit presenting you with a fantastic chance to help shape and influence the growth and development of the testing practice.
The chosen Test Manager will be a commercially aware individual who specialises in enterprise-wide testing inclusive of all of its processes and tooling.
You will have lead testing on complex engagements and are proficient in analysing and assessing commercial benefits. You are successful at winning pull-through or add-on business to existing accounts and have strong knowledge of Managed Testing Services for both transition and run phases. You will have a strong understanding of test transformation and the associated 'levers' as well as various commercial models such as output based pricing mechanisms. You are an active coach and mentor who helps in coaching others.
Essential skills, experience and knowledge:
Enterprise wide Test Management experience, working within a true client facing consulting style environment.
Strong experience of Managed Test Services utilising both onshore and offshore testing capabilities.
Commerical awareness and demonstrable involvement in sales and pre-sales related content around contributing to proposals, presenting and managing proposals.
Strong experience of managing large / multiple test teams in a programme of complex testing projects across multiple locations against strict SLA's and KPI's.
Demonstrable experience of directing other Test Managers to deliver projects
Experience of implementing significant changes to existing processes in an organisation
Experience of setting up Test Centres of Excellence, tools, processes, people
Able to successfully lead / implement test transformation initiatives
Desirable skills, experience and knowledge:
Prior experience of line managing larger test teams of greater than 30-40
Experience of leading test transformation initiatives
ISEB practitioner certificate in software testing
Experience of the application of metrics to monitor test effectiveness and the success of a test strategy
Experience of engaging new test suppliers and building the engagement into a successful relationship
Experience of running a fixed price or output based service
As this role is working for a major UK Consultancy, you are expected to be fully UK mobile and, when necessary, required to work away from home (Monday to Friday).
