Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Survey Crew Chief/Plat Specialist candidate for the Transportation Department in Stevens Point WI. Work will consist of developing right of way plats and completing design and construction surveys.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Developing traditional right of way plats and Transportation Project Plats according to Wisconsin Department of Transportation standards
  • Developing horizontal and vertical control networks for projects
  • Preparing Certified Survey Maps
  • Developing subdivision plats
  • Preparing legal descriptions for easements, land transfers and relocation orders
  • Preparing conveyance of rights documents for utilities
  • Completing design surveys for highway, bridge and utility projects
  • Completing construction survey staking for highway, bridge and utility projects
  • Staking temporary easements and permanent right of way
Projects may include:
  • Interstate highways
  • Urban and rural roadways
  • Multi-use paths
  • Site work
  • utility work
Periodic construction observation and graphics preparation is also included.

Successful candidates will be based out of the Stevens Point office and may from time to time travel during the day or evenings to project sites, client meetings, or other AECOM offices. Successful candidates will be expected to work independently and in design teams to advance projects through design and construction.

Minimum Requirements
  • Associates degree in related field
  • 6 years of relevant work experience
  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the state of Wisconsin
  • Experience with Wisconsin Department of Transportation Facilities Development Manual
  • Experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD
  • Experience in highway and utility design surveys and staking

Preferred Qualifications
  • Microstation experience
  • Proficient in the use of Trimble GPS and Total Station survey equipment
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret construction drawings
  • Ability to perform necessary survey calculations
  • Proficient at keeping thorough notes and records
  • Ability to communicate with Clients and Project Managers
  • Experience in construction observation
