Job Summary
Based on site full-time as a member of the AECOM construction phase services team for a major PPP Project, the role comprises providing technical advice and assistance to the contractor to enable the works to be constructed in accordance with design intent. The role includes working with the other members of the construction phase team and interacting with the AECOM design office staff, and design sub-consultants.

The scope of work includes:
  • Reviewing contractor's method statements for compliance with the drawings and specifications, particularly any hold points. Advise contractor of any shortcomings, omissions, errors etc.
  • Reviewing the contractor's suppliers' submissions (eg: product and material proposals, and shop drawings) to
  • Reviewing the contractor's inspection and test plans and job safety and environmental analyses.
  • Undertaking random concrete pre-pour inspections (initially as many as physically possible and once confidence in the contractor's ability is gained, the number can be reduced)
  • Reviewing the contractor's QA results advising if re-work is required to comply with the contract
  • Working with the contractor in the event that the construction is not strictly in accordance with the drawings and specifications to develop methods that will ensure the construction is in accordance with the design intent.

Minimum Requirements
We are seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Engineer with at least 10 or more years' experience of bridge design and/or construction, including site inspections. You will also need to have strong communication skills gained through your experience of working on site, liaising with contractors and team members alike.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience on site at the construction phase or gained as a resident engineer on civil structural / bridge projects.
  • Seismic design.
