Your new company
Our client is a rapidly growing business based in the Portishead area. Due to growth and an increase in workload an opportunity has arisen within their Senior Team. The practice was founded over 30 years ago and are well known for their expertise in the residential and retirement sectors. They are a multi-disciplinary company whose work encompasses urban extensions, master planning within residential developments, care housing and retirement villages. They have a solid reputation which is displayed by the vast amount of clients they consistently receive repeat business from.

Your new role
As Technical manager you will have good experience of working within the residential sector preferably with a developer. You will aid the technical director in the delegation of work to the technicians while being the day to day point of contact. Manage and delegate projects in respect of timescales, client liaison fielding queries and internal sources and advise the team where required. Invoke the quality control system to outgoing produce in respect of secondary checking. Produce production drawings, risk assessments documents, supporting technical schedules such as steel schedules and any work delegated from the directors. Carry out co-ordination checking of sub-contractors information and liaise with all relevant parties of as necessary. To undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade and character of the position.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have experience in a similar position either within practice or with a residential developer handling sites of 50+ dwellings. Your building regulation knowledge will need to be strong and a high level proficiency in AUTOCAD will be expected with REVIT being desirable but certainly not essential. Experience of managing / co-ordinating a multi-disciplinary team and experience of working to deadlines. Good time management, people skills, communication both written and verbal are essential. You will be a great problem solver capable of being the centre of the company and the go to person for all problems. You will be someone who enjoys leading from the front and taking a team along with you.

What you'll get in return
