Due to successful and continued growth the Buildings & Built Environment Group have a vacancy for a Structural Engineer in our London Office.
Working as part of an ambitious growing team you will provide hands on structural engineering for a wide variety of projects ranging from small refurbishments to mixed-use high-rise developments with values from £0.5million to £350million.
You will be strong technically and able to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external design teams.
You will be responsible for the production of Structural Engineering calculations and designs on a range of projects across a multitude of sectors working closely with other members of the group.
You should uphold the core values of our business and act as a role model for the team and the region.
You should have a desire to continually improve our service to our clients and the efficiency of the London team
A well rounded individual, ideally chartered, but not essential.
You should possess a broad range of engineering skills and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of current codes of practice both British Standards and Eurocodes working in all the main construction materials.
You should be able to demonstrate the ability to use the latest 3D modelling design software packages in both concrete and steelwork such as Tekla Structural Designer, RAM Structural System, AutoDesk Robot etc and also be comfortable undertaking hand calculations or spreadsheets where required. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential as is the ability to produce clear, practical and economic design sketches that can be passed to engineers, graduate engineers and structural technicians.
Experience in the analysis and design of high rise buildings would be of benefit.
An appreciation of the REVIT modelling software suite and working in a BIM environment is also desirable.
