Financial Planning & Applications Analyst

This is a temporary role (up to June 2018), based in our HQ in Berlin, part of the Finance Division and reporting to the Manager of the Financial Planning & Applications function.


Management of financial planning processes (e.g. Strategic Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting), and as well of their accurate reflection in the global financial systems.

Providing financial & technical expertise to the Finance community including tasks from the introduction of the processes till adjustment & handover to customer of the related applications.


Financial Planning

  • Support and/or coordinate all financial planning processes within Bombardier;
  • Setting up timelines for the planning processes that fit to the accounting calendar;
  • Assist in the preparation of the overall budget / forecast / strategic orientation reporting process, including back-up analysis for senior management and Corporate;
  • Perform analysis & follow-up on strategic planning KPIs for Bombardier's legal entities;
  • Analyze inter-company mismatches between the divisions to ensure & deliver high quality financial planning;
  • Support in ad hoc financial planning related requests from various internal customers like Corporate office or other Divisions;

Financial Applications

  • Maintenance and support of global financial systems/applications - including but not limited to: FORE, FIT, EAI, Longview Tax tool;
  • Manage master data changes and maintain tables and queries respectively;
  • Monitor finance applications during monthly closing and reporting - including but not limited to Global FORE (SAP BW), FIT (Business Objects), EAI Interface (TIBCO);
  • Provide financial data to all incorporated applications, such as PPRS and Corporate HFM;
  • Develop Queries and Workbooks and document accordingly;
  • Support and/or lead various applications related projects initiated by Group Finance;


  • 2 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (where dealing extensively with Financial Planning IT applications/systems), Reporting and/or Controlling;
  • Strong understanding of the Accounting rules & guidelines (e.g. IFRS) - an Accounting certification will be nice to have but not mandatory;
  • Excellent Excel hands-on knowledge is critical while VBA insights will be an asset;
  • Previous experience with SAP BW (as a key user and/or business analyst), and preferably some background with SAP BO and/or SAP BI;
  • Proven background with supporting strategic and investment decisions, commercial and industrial plans, and products portfolio within a multinational organization/environment;
  • Excellent analytical skills, proven methodical approach and high attention to details;
  • Good capacity to prioritize in between multiple projects concurrently to meet tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment;
  • High ability to build and maintain business partnerships at all levels ("C" levels included), in order to drive change and/or to obtain buy-in from various stakeholders;
  • University degree in Accounting, Economics and/or Business Administration.
  • Business fluent in English while German and/or French skills will be a plus.
