My client, a major contractor throughout the UK is recruiting for a Senior Works Manager to be a key member of their Infrastructure division.
To lay the infrastructure (Roads, Rail, Rivers & Bridges) for a future housing development.
As part of CP5 the Rail work involves extension on an existing train station, as well as laying new track and over rail bridges.
As part of the main infrastructure works, Roads, drainage and rivers will need to be either re aligned or put in place in order to make the future housing estate more accessible and safe.
Managing and maintaining the highest standards of safety
Preparation of risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safety plans
Identification and assessment of site or task specific risk assessments formulation of safe methods of working.
Marshalling of resources for the overall execution of the works including the supervision of sub-contractors to carry out the works.
Ensuring that key dates, resource requirements, production rates are established, monitored and controlled Cost Control
Experience and Qualifications:
Applicants, preferably with a trade or semi-skilled operative background must have a proven track of success of delivering projects within the rail sector, gained preferably with a main contractor.
In addition the successful candidate will have:
A thorough understanding of construction processes, able to demonstrate an effective co-ordination strategy for on-site works
A thorough understanding of project planning and monitoring processes
A thorough understanding of safety, environmental and quality management processes and able to demonstrate positive track record.
