Role: Junior Technical Consultant
Salary: To £25,000+ Benefits
This position will offer the successful candidate an introduction into the role of Technical Consultant and ultimately a career path into Software Project Management. Initially this will be primarily an office based role carrying out the complex and technical process of upgrading client systems, including providing advice to clients on new functionality and configuration options.
As you gain experience, you will progress to delivering specific pieces of configuration and bespoke work, with increasing autonomy and direct client contact, including taking briefs and producing specifications.
In the initial position, the candidate will gain experience in the following areas:
Some direct client contact
The opportunity to innovate and introduce solutions to address specific business problems
Managing and carrying out of upgrades to client systems
Making minor configuration changes to client systems
Data collection, data import and reporting.
Assisting others in the Customisation function with larger projects.
Liaising with client to report on progress, and to clarify requirements
Occasional UK travel will be involved and a small amount of early morning/evening work.
The candidate must be able to organise themselves effectively and to juggle competing priorities.
An inclination to work with and communicate with clients is important, so it is essential to demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. The candidate should not be uncomfortable with the idea of standing up in front of a group of people and making a presentation.
The successful candidate will be lively, bright, intelligent and personable. They will have good communication skills, be enthusiastic and have strong initiative. A 'hands-on' approach to dealing with technical issues is a necessity as is the ability to work effectively as part of a team
