You could get the opportunity of a lifetime to work for this Global Engineering and Technology business. Their UK operation employs around 600 people covering existing and "start-up" operations spanning eight locations including a major facility down in Kent.
The company have secured a number of high profile orders with full lifecycle maintenance contracts to manufacture and maintain high value capital equipment and as a result, will look to increase their headcount to 2000 by 2020 to meet the demands of these contracts.
Your role as Technical Manager will be pivotal in supporting this growth by managing the training team, who are responsible for increasing the knowledge and competency base of all technical staff, including apprentices to ensure they are primed to perform to the very best of their ability!

ABOUT THE JOB
As Training Manager you will have a hefty responsibility managing all aspects of training and competence on site. Specific responsibility extends to the management of the training delivery team (a very talented bunch of people indeed!) including the training budget. You'll look after all aspects of the apprenticeship scheme, nurturing the future stars of the business, to conducting training needs analysis, and developing the training material to meet any gaps identified. And finally, what training role wouldn't be complete, without making sure all training delivered complies with legislation, standards and good practice!
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
This role will suit you if you like to hold positions of responsibility and take satisfaction from imparting your wisdom and knowledge onto others. If you can bring out the best in people and like putting in place a framework where this can happen in structured and consistent fashion, then this is certainly a role for you.
You're the Training Manager I am looking for if you can demonstrate a solid track record in engineering. You will likely have started you career as an apprentice and worked your way up repairing high value capital equipment. From there you probably took your career down the training route, where you wanted to impart your knowledge and wisdom and inspire a new generation of apprentices, benefitting from your unrivalled fault finding and diagnostic capability. In time, you will likely have progressed your career further, taking responsibility for managing and coordinating a team of technical trainers, helping them deliver the outstanding training you have become well known for! If you can demonstrate this from a Rail/Rolling Stock environment then you're the ideal candidate but I am really keen to speak to any Technical Manager from large capital equipment background, including the Military
