Our client undertakes many projects that are solely geotechnical commissions and are led by our Principal - Associate Geotechnical Engineers. Other projects are collaborative with our civil and structural groups and they encourage and challenge the use of their wider skills to design the structural elements that form geotechnical solutions.|
As result of continued strategic planned growth they now have an opportunities at their Surrey office for additional Principal or Associate Geotechnical Engineers to develop their skills and work on projects in the over-ground and underground rail sector, heavy civil infrastructure, commercial development, underground structures and all forms of underground space.
The attributes required to successfully fulfil this role are:
Experience in delivering detailed design engineering solutions, drawings and specifications for slope stability, earthworks and retaining structures particularly in the rail environment.
Competent in piling, piled walls, foundation and retaining wall design, temporary works, soil nails, ground anchors and the planning, implementation and interpretation of site investigations.
Have a proven track record of achievements in technical, commercial and project management whilst working in a fast-paced engineering consultancy environment.
Preparation of technical documentation, contract documents and fee estimates.
Able to work in collaboration with other engineering disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and gain a good understanding of their sector to foster effective and enduring relationships.
Ability to manage a challenging workload.
A team player with a mature approach including first class interpersonal skills
Proactive in developing themselves and team members to full potential by promoting Continuous Professional Development.
Ideal candidates must have the following credentials:
A degree (minimum 2:1) in civil engineering.
Around 12 - 15 years' relevant UK project geotechnical design engineering experience.
A Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or appropriate professional body.
