Pre Sales Infrastructure Consultant

My client currently has a new and exciting vacancy for a presales infrastructure consultant. Reporting to the Head of Professional Service, your role will be responsible for growing our existing business, working with the key senior management team including Vendor Manager, Head of Marketing, Head of Professional Services and the relevant sales leads, globally.

The Role
This is a pre-sales role, therefore would involve working with the Sales team as a technical expert, with clients as an advisor and also with partners and vendors on the various solutions available.

Person Specification

• A minimum of 5 years' designing technical infrastructure solutions with a background of presales, consultancy and Cloud
• Strong IT-infrastructure technical skills, network architectures, routing, security, SAN/NAS storage technologies - Linux operating system expertise a plus
• Solid experience in technology pre-sales and virtualization related work, including roles in pre-sales, technical account management IT consulting
• Experience in architecting compute, storage and networking solutions in the mid to enterprise space
• Experience with enterprise applications, security, systems management and business continuity solutions a plus
• Experience troubleshooting system level problems including server failure, OS tuning and networking problems
• Experience in selling revenue generating services
• Experience with pre-sales account management and sales methodologies
• Experience in building tender and RFI responses
• Ability to produce high level designs for the purposes of securing new business and later distilling down low level designs for project engineers and customer documentation
• Ability to produce proposal documentation to articulate the business and technical benefits of the designed solutions, including accurate bills of materials to support the technical designs including hardware, software and licensing
• Great communication skills and personal skills with the ability to speak to larger groups and at all levels
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to build and present high quality demonstrations to both technical and executive audiences
• Exceptional customer-facing and relationship building skills
• Mentor and develop the existing technical team, identify training needs and knowledge sharing
• Must be effective in working both independently and in a team setting
• Must be able to persuade and influence senior enterprise IT Architects and C-level executives
• Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive means
• Experience required in working internationally
• Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Negotiating and problem solving skills
• Travel flexibility is a pre-requisite
• Excellent written and spoken English is a pre-requisite
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related area or demonstration of equivalent knowledge
