Horizon Search & Selection are currently seeking a Design Manager for a leading manufacturing company based in Attleborough. Established for over 40 years our client pride themselves on offering brilliant quality and service through their furniture and seating range.

With many of their products going through an exciting period of re-development and design they require a hands-on Design Manager to head the team within the R&D Department. Working with Autodesk Inventor, there would also be involvement in creating design solutions for their customers working environments.

The key responsibilities and accountabilities for this role are as follows:
• Develop a thorough knowledge of our clients products and services
• Leading a small team within the design department taking care of day-to-day management duties
• Providing excellent design and presentation service for products
• Action requests for modification to existing products including drawings, bills of materials and component specifications
• Liaise with other departments on manufacturing capabilities, changes and sourcing of supplier parts and raw materials
• Ensure that work is cost effective and suitable for production at all times
• Keeping abreast of current design innovations and styles together with relevant international standards
• Follow design workflow, presentation styles and departmental procedures and work towards improving departmental systems
• Utilise AutoCAD and Revit to produce high-quality space plans, 3D visuals and presentation materials to present a clear vision of the proposed solution to the customer
• Work closely with the Internal Sales Team and directly with customers to supply space plans, furniture & seating specifications and installation plans
• Manage CAD data using Autodesk Vault software

In order to be considered for this role candidates will be expected to have/be:
• A strong knowledge of design, materials and construction techniques
• Ideally some experience of space planning and furniture layout

• Thorough knowledge and proficiency in the use of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD software, working with a range of data from multiple sources to create part and assembly models and production drawings
• Excellent attention to detail
• Extremely organised and able to prioritise a busy and changing workload
• Ability to work well with Production, R&D, and Internal Sales staff as well as customers directly
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• A high degree of integrity, credibility, energy and enthusiasm
