This multi-million pound business has renowned capabilities for developing cutting edge technology, and as part of their expansion plans, have a need for a high end candidate capable of performance enhancing design work to contribute to ever evolving product upgrades.
The successful Motion Control Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and improvement of control systems for product enrichment. You can expect duties to include:
? Work with the Project Managers and team on new and improved designs for performance enhancement
? Design and develop specifications for electrical control systems
? Design, develop, upgrade and troubleshoot PLC programs, HMI and electrical control hardware
? Prepare and maintain design documentation
MEng/BEng or equivalent in Electrical/Control Engineering or equivalent experience is essential along with proven background of design and process improvement. Also required:
? Proven knowledge of PLC electrical control and multi-axis motion control systems - ability with Beckhoff TwinCAT would be advantageous
? Ideally you will have proven background of concept electrical design, however it is essential you can read/modify engineering drawings using Eplan P8
? Solid background gained within FMCG manufacture or integration i.e. food, beverage, printing, pharmaceutical or medical for the design and commissioning of electrical control systems
? Proven ability to liaise technically with suppliers - current knowledge of national and international electrical and safety regulations would be helpful
We are seeking an Engineer who can not only design systems, but have the ability to work with the entire R&D team to create and innovate machines. You will have the skills to constantly evaulate each part of every design in order to extract better performance. This is not just a Controls Design role - you will be the driving force behind the team.
