Network & Security Architect - West London - up to £75k + Car Allowance + Bonus|
Infrastructure Architect specialising in Network & Security required by award-winning global retailer.
In this exciting, varied role you will act as the primary technical authority on architectural design requirements for Networks, Network Security devices and related infrastructure and you will be responsible for influencing strategy globally.
You will work closely with 3rd party IT suppliers to ensure the delivery or review and sign-off of solution designs and high level / low level design documents. You will use your broad technology skills and knowledge to challenge suppliers designs where necessary and drive them to deliver against the priorities of the business. You will develop technology roadmaps to help transform the company's IT environment and will help to optimise processes and put in place strong governance. Day-to-day you will support application architects on network and security infrastructure requirements and you will provide leadership and management to the Infrastructure Architecture Team, giving architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to Senior Management, Systems Analysts, Systems Engineers, and other Systems Architects. You will also be responsible for influencing budget decisions in excess of up to £20m per year.
To be considered for this exciting role you will be a highly motivated and driven Network & Security Architect with a broad technical understanding spanning Cisco (nexus), MPLS, routing protocols, Checkpoint firewalls, load balancing (F5 BigIP), IPAM, etc. Whilst this is a architect / design level role you will still be close enough to the technology to make informed decisions and be able to challenge the designs put forward by 3rd party IT suppliers. You will bring expert level experience in systems design and development and will be experienced in hands-on gathering and analysis of business requirements. You will be able to demonstrate considerable experience in the development of strategic plans, evaluating software and hardware and will have expert conceptual, analytical and problem solving abilities. A good knowledge of PCI DSS, SIEM, data privacy practices and laws is also desirable. Strong communication skills are essential and you will be confident in challenging 3rd party stakeholders when appropriate.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a large, changing IT environment at a major retailer where there is a significant amount of projects in the pipeline. The successful candidate can expect a salary of up to £65k - £75k + Car Allowance + Bonus (up to 20%) as well as other benefits including pension, private medical, life and 25 days holiday.
