An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Street Works Inspector to join a very busy Network Management team in the Home Counties on a permanent basis.|
Our client is a highways term maintenance provider with a nationwide presence, and can offer a supportive environment in an excellent location to join a team of 5, providing Street Works Inspections and technical advice across a large highway network.
To oversee and ensure compliance with all aspects of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and Traffic Management Act 2004 and associated Codes of Practices across a large highway network.
Duties and Responsibilities:
NA be responsible for, under the direction of the Senior Streetworks Compliance Technician, overseeing the procedures associated with Statutory & Private Undertakers and internally delivered highway works under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA), Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA), and the Highway Maintenance Act 1980 including:
NA inspect sites in accordance with the National Code of Practice for Inspections.
NA ensure that the National Specification for Reinstatements of Openings in the Highway has been adhered to.
NA liaise with Statutory and Private Undertakers as necessary.
NA ensure the requirements of the Roadworks Permit Scheme are adhered to.
NA be responsible for gathering and collating evidence in relation to the enforcement of NRSWA, and in particular Sections 56, 60, 66 and 74, and assist in the timely submission of such evidence to the Statutory Undertakers and internal stakeholders.
NA be responsible for gathering and collating evidence in relation to the enforcement of TMA Parts 3, 4 and 5 and assist in the timely submission of the required evidence to the relevant parties involved..
NA be responsible for gathering and collating information in relation to TMA Part 6 - Civil Enforcement of Traffic Contraventions when requested by Team Leader Roadspace Management.
NA Local and County HAUC meetings as required.
NA assist with the delivery of statutory obligations under TMA Part 2 and CoP for Co-ordination of Street works and Road works and associated matters, under the direction of the Senior Public Streetworks Compliance Technician.
(url removed)ntribute to the development of corporate policies and procedures relating to NRSWA / TMA activities within the organisation.
NA with members of the public, Area Office Staff, Local Councils, other County Council Departments and other authorities on matters related to NRSWA and TMA.
NA use the Management Systems for recording correspondence, and maintaining appropriate record.
NA required by the Team Leader Roadspace Management to complete such highway inspection of a more general nature as can be combined with inspection of road openings and to take sufficient note of these so that they can be itemised and quantified.
(url removed)nsider applications for Licences and Permits, where appropriate, to Conduct Street Works and Install Apparatus. Attend site meetings as required and assist in the issue of Licences when approved by the Licencing Officer.
NA post holder has a responsibility to report and deal with any emergency or potential danger that makes a highway unsafe for the public regardless of time of day or night.
NA be aware of and implement relevant quality and performance standards.
NA adhere to all Health and Safety requirements and to take an active and engaged approach to Health and Safety.
