To ensure that the objectives of the Quantity Surveying team are achieved or exceeded. The role has full accountability for the performance of the team.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Management and co-ordination of the activities of the Quantity
Surveying team in line with the business plan
• Manage and take responsibility for the surveying performance of
designated projects
• To minimise cost and enhance value for money wherever possible
whilst still achieving the high standards of quality and customer service
• To be involved in a designated project from the start, preparing
estimates and costs of the work
• To monitor any variations to contract documentation that impact on
cost and take any appropriate remedial action
• Provision of 'hands-on' input to ensure the team achieve their aims and
• Cascade Company information to the team and ensure two-way
communication channels are in place
• Conduct team appraisals and identify team development needs and
ensure their implementation and review.
• Communication and liaison with service departments to facilitate a
teamwork approach to problem solving and operational tasks
• Participate in the appointment of Quantity Surveying employees within
the provisions of the Recruitment Policy
• Deal with performance management and disciplinary matters

• Comprehensive knowledge of the Quantity Surveying process and associated legislation

• Knowledge of project management methods
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
• Comfortable with deadlines and able to co-ordinate activity effectively to meet required deadlines
• Knowledge of Company Business Plan and business objectives
