Our Client is a subsidiary of a leading global provider of design, engineering, program management, construction management, and operations and maintenance support. They provide facilities management support to the International Peacekeeping Force which operates in the Sinai, Egypt.|
They are currently seeking a Preventative Maintenance Supervisor be based at the South Camp located at Sharm El Sheikh. This is an 18 month contract position initially and then renewable for an additional 18 months.
Reporting into the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance operations at our client's site and will supervise a multidiscipline project maintenance team consisting of HVAC, Carpentry, and Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, Painting and Equipment Operator trades.
Specifically, you will ensure the work and maintenance operations under your responsibility is carried out in strict accordance with the Company's current safety rules and operating procedures; also in accordance with standard industry practice, thereby guaranteeing the quality of maintenance operations carried out on site.
You will also be responsible for guaranteeing a good level of availability of the equipment or special tooling responsible for production.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, organizing maintenance operations which are placed under your responsibility.
You will report daily directly to the designated Supervisor/Manager and will ensure that the Company, Customer and Site Regulations and Policies are adhered to and respected, as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practice during performance of maintenance operations placed under your responsibility.
You will monitor and maintain equipment and special tooling placed under your responsibility to include upkeep of Company/Site vehicles.
You will keep a critical eye on the maintenance program and, if needed, suggest and makes improvements. It is expected that you will be in the field supervising the teams work a minimum of 85% of the time.
You will ensure that the members of your team have the qualifications and skills required for the task entrusted to them.
You will maintain accurate records of all work accomplished and will ensure accurate and timely completion of work orders.
You will order materials for service and repair jobs within framework of work orders.
You will ensure that the transfer of knowledge by mentoring to the Egyptian workforce occurs properly within your team, and actively supervise tasks being performed.
Finally, you will train and direct subordinate Egyptian National staff in applicable areas of performance in accordance with Generally Accepted Industry and Professional Standards and the approved On-Job- Training Program.
Please note the job may require 24 hour "on call" duties to provide immediate customer support.
Although this role is based primarily at our clients South Camp, you may from time to time be required to work at their North Camp which is near to the Mediterranean coast.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Maintenance Supervisor with experience of working in a service industry involving commercial and/or residential maintenance and have as your core skills
preventive and corrective maintenance of chilled/hot water and or direct expansion HVAC systems and low temperature refrigeration units.
You will diagnose and repair faults/failures as they occur, and maintain records of operating conditions, times and services rendered as appropriate.
You will perform major overhauls to include dismantling, replacing and or repairing on all heating, ventilating, cooling and refrigeration systems and their component parts.
You will determine materials, tools and appropriate methods required to accomplish works from visual inspection, blueprints, sketches, samples and verbal instructions.
You will co-ordinate all HVAC work with other trades shops as required, ensure that all safety instructions are complied with, that all tools, machinery and equipment are correctly maintained and used and maintain discipline within the HVAC Shop.
Experience of working in a military environment or for an international facilities management services provider and other similar organisations would be ideal, as would experience of working in remote sites or in other arduous environments.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
Finally, you should be pc literate and possess a Drivers Licence.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Maintenance Supervisor with an HVAC bias looking for something different.
The basic salary is paid in the currency of your citizenship and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
An 18 month unaccompanied status contract is offered which includes free accommodation, laundry, local transport, life assurance, disability insurance and meals. In addition, employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and the internet for e-mails etc.
The R and R entitlement is 38 days over the 18 month contract plus 12 public holidays a year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are paid for by our client.
